Carpet making

Ayrarat region, the XVI-XVIIth centuries. Starting from the pre-Christian period to the present day, carpet making has had a special place within the Armenian culture. The main distinctive feature of the Armenian carpets is the use of people's and animals' images as ornamental motifs.
